'The Science of Getting Rich'
I always write in my journal about books or cds or courses I am inspired by. Looking back through my journals I see I revisit a lot of the material. We need to re-inspire ourselves on a regular basis.Work and money – or work we love and money – is an issue for many people. I’ve studied the subject in great depth but I still haven’t quite cracked it...I'll let you know when I do! This entry shows how reading a book can inspire and get you thinking about new possibilities - including around areas you struggle with. If a book, workshop or cd can make you feel better about something, can make you more positive, hopeful or inspired, then it's done its job! Tuesday 24 October 2006 I’ve finished the book ‘the Science of Getting Rich’ and it has given me hope. There are various elements to the Science of Getting Rich – the process of it, and you kind of have to keep all the balls in the air, remember all aspects or elements of what is needed – what you need to do. Gratitude, visualisation, action, faith, working on purpose to the very best of your ability, all feature. Giving more than monetary worth is another aspect. i.e. running a prosperity workshop for the cost of £100 may make it possible for someone to become prosperous to the tune of an extra £100 (or more) a week. So they receive much more value than the actual cost of the workshop. By teaching what I know and have spent years studying I can sum up what I’ve learned, and found, and save people time and effort in reading the (huge) library I’ve read, or in making the mistakes I've made perhaps. Sharing insights that I have possibly arrived at after years of lessons.... If you spend months researching a course you present in a day, or sell a book that’s taken years to write, you’ve given so much more than the price of the book. So those are ways I could give more. The author (Wattles)suggests studying and re-reading the book (and no other material). I can understand why in a way – so your focus is on ‘getting rich’ and the ‘science of getting rich’. He promises if you follow and do everything he suggests, you will become rich. So how much do I want to be rich? I’ve certainly shifted my thinking in that I think this may now be a possibility for me, whereas in the past I shunned it and couldn’t imagine it – now I can and I am. I’ve got to begin my writing course and I’ve got to study the e-bay course and start trading. The author of this book talks about achieving – successfully – as much as can be achieved in each day. It is about mental and physical effort – not 'over efforting' though, and never, stress. More about solid and steady progress it would seem. And all that makes me feel 'twitchy' for sitting here... But I love my journal time and I don’t want to rush it. But now, another cup of tea and toast beckons... 10.15 already! It’s raining and dull outside and I feel cold. I’ve been reading ‘the book’ and surfing the net. I can’t believe a couple of hours have gone by. Journal writing over for the moment.
