Your journal can be a place for recording synchronicities and for other amazing ‘spiritual-type’ experiences. (Even watching the dawn sky can be a spiritual experience).

I always put the date, time (and, usually, the weather!) in each journal entry. I rarely use paragraph spacing in my journal but do so here for ease of reading.

Tuesday 17 October 2006

7.40am. I’ve been up about half an hour. I’ve got the ‘big’ candles lit in the living room and am sitting here now. I may put them out soon as it’s now light.

I’ve just watched a lovely sunrise. The luminosity wasn’t as bright as it sometimes is, but the clouds covered the sky and made beautiful shapes and textures.

Towards the grand finale of dawn I saw the shape of a huge eagle that covered the whole sky. It was coming towards me with huge head, beak and eyes, and two huge wings spreading out on either side.

9.00am I’ve just chosen a ‘Sweat Lodge’ (divination) card and the picture shows in the sky, an eagle, exactly like the one I saw in the clouds – large head, beak, eyes and wings. Spooky. And, wonderful.

The card is “SAPA: The West – Black – Meditate”. The card also shows either a dawn sky or a sunset – orange clouds like this morning, and buffalo on the plains. Ah, reading the card, it’s a sunset – the West - of course. (the sun sets in the West). The card is about taking time to meditate and ‘return our attention to the quiet place where spirit rests ... listen to self guidance’.

I can’t get over the eagle I saw in the sky.
