The Community Suit These cards are made up of the people and animals in your life, now or in the past. They may be friends and family.
As the name suggests they are people in your ‘community’, in your world. They can be people you know well, or people you’ve only read about or seen on t.v. The community suit comprises not only of people who love and support you or have inspired you. The suit may also comprise of those who you find challenging. All have helped make you who you are today. They may be living or dead. They may have touched your life in some way, or influenced you greatly through their teaching or actions, not always in an obvious way. For example, the teacher who told you that you would never amount to anything may have spurred you on to great things – honour that teacher! Your ‘Community’ may be artists, writers or spiritual figures. You don’t have to love or even like everyone you select but you will want to choose an aspect of their energy or perspective that you want. Their essence if you like, that you’d like to ‘own’ for yourself. In other words, in the way that you might want to ‘disown’ your shadow selves, here you want to absolutely embrace and take on the qualities of these people! Personally, I’d like Richard Branson’s business and financial skills and enthusiasm! When I think of Richard B I think of ‘Success’. He also seems a nice guy! But you could equally choose a hugely financially successful person that you don’t particularly like. I’m not particularly drawn to Donald Trump for instance, (he often looks so miserable for one thing) but he’s certainly good at making money, so YOU might like his ‘energy’ or ‘influence’ in your life!
You might also create a card featuring ‘groups’ of people – perhaps from a class, ‘circle’ or workshop. Or you may want to create a card picturing all of your pets over the years or, a card for each individual pet.
If you’ve created a card for someone who has died you may also find you get a very moving message for yourself. You might find it interesting to choose a card at random for each day and see what comes up. Or you might want to draw on a particular energy and deliberately choose a ‘card for the day’. Place it where you will see it often to remind you of the energy or quality you want to draw on throughout that day.
